Nemo versus terminal copy (cp) as to setgid group folders.

Post by TomForge »

Hi All:

Is there a way to get Nemo to respect setgid as does the terminal cp command when copying a nested subdirectory structure (aka a 'tree') over to a 2770 folder?

I have even tried setfacl but whether using ACLs or not, Nemo seems to somehow copy differently than cp does? The result basically being that the subdirectories do not get the setgid bit placed on them as they are being copied into a 2770 folder.

I have done quite a bit of digging around and testing on this topic. See my long-winded but latest notes here > https://greatreasons.org/files/document ... -notes.txt.

Thanks all!
