I had a 1 TB HD with 4 partitions.
3 partitions of the 4 now have only a lost + found file.
I opened the first partition (the first volume of 204 GB) with root and this is what I get:
steve-GQ574AA-AB3-a6285l lost+found # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /dev
tmpfs 799M 9.4M 789M 2% /run
/dev/sda3 48G 11G 36G 24% /
tmpfs 3.9G 37M 3.9G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock

/dev/sda8 187G 60M 178G 1% /media/steve/bd69d0f5-e7fd-467f-b7a8-58235a9e0f98
the second partition and third partition I can't open.
When I try to open the lost + found folder in these two volumes
I get this message:
You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "lost+found".
On one of these partitions is windows installed and on the other one pictures.
I can see with properties that one partition has 10 GB used and the next partition 4 GB
But I can't open the lost + found folder in these partitions and when I open these partitions as root, they are empty although more than 14 GB is used.
The fourth partition I can open normal and on this 4th volume I have the following folders installed:
/media/steve/10EA7693453ED0C91/System Volume Information
Can somebody help me to find a solution to open the first three volumes of my hard disk again.
Is there a way to recover these lost + found folders/ How can I open them? How can I recover the data in these lost + found folders.
I find it strange that in the first volume I can open this lost + found folder as root, but in the next two volumes not. Even when i open the first lost + found folder as root, I have no idea what I should do. I am afraid that I will lose this data also.
I have to admit that I only recently started to work with linux .
It is very good possible I did something wrong
Thanks for the help guys,...
