How can I get rid of this light blue bar at the bottom of my screen?

Is this a laptop? If so, maybe the cable which goes through the hinge needs replacing. Is it ONLY in Linux?

I believe this is the result of changing some Login Window settings, as I have described here: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=257803

Doesn't look like a panel created section, unless you set it for translucent. Again I ask, is this a laptop?

If it is a desktop, cycle the power on the monitor.

Everyone seems to be assuming a hardware problem but you don't say if it only shows on the login screen or shows on the desktop also?

It's a laptop and it only shows in the login screen.

Can you change the background picture. Probably thats the issue.

Are you using xorg or other?
