I got sick of the stupid slow speed I was getting, start decent speed then dropped. So, I canceled the update the switch to a new port on my modem.. twice. Got faster speeds both times, at first. Will this have effected the stability of the update in any way?

I wouldn't think so. The system will know whether the download and install was completed successfully.flatiron wrote:Will this have effected the stability of the update in any way?

The abort button in the update manager is only available during the download process; if you do this, nothing really bad can happen. In fact, if you launch the same update again, the update manager (better: the underlying backend) recognizes the already downloaded part of the package and continues by downloading only the missing part.
Aborting the real installation part is not possible. In fact, in case this should happen (e. g. sudden power loss) the installation state of the questioned package would get undefined. In this case a new installation of this package might be needed.
