Run (shortcut) application with "root" privileges

Run (shortcut) application with "root" privileges

Hi all,

Can anyone advise me, how to create (shortcut) with root privileges, on the desktop?

path program:
"/root/DoubleCommander/doublecmd"

The folder /root is the home for the virtual user root. It is completely separated from the home of the other users out of an important reason: In case, that you get in emergency situation and root's home should be broken, you can forget your system completely. That means, that there must be no custom files (e g your example) at all.

For a launcher icon, such as you might want on the desktop, the Command field should specify elevated privilege and the path of the command...
Command: gksu /root/DoubleCommander/doublecmd
You can copy one of the launchers in /usr/share/applications onto your Desktop and right-click it to edit what it does.
