hsp in pulseaudioBT

Post by winoseti »

seems that they have dropped this functionality and why?
the new BT from PA has lost the headset mic and the sound quality for the headset speakers has gone to a2dp whereas it was definitely hsp quality before.
I use blueman which gives me tangible error messages.
Does anyone know how to get hsp audio and mic back again. pulseaudio is in version8. I notice in version 11 it has returned hsp/hfp. to functionality.
pulse audio 1.8 for ubuntu is based on PA8. has it just been removed?
Is it just a matter of time before it is returned?
I have had to revert to plugging in a headset for telephony. not ideal.
