Installing Adobe Flash Player update

Post by nsivin »

I am running Mint Mate 18.3 and Firefox 57.0.1. I have downloaded from Adobe an update to Flash Player. The instructions say

Copy libflashplayer.so to the appropriate browser plugins directory. At the prompt type:
+ cp libflashlayer.so <BrowserPluginsLocation>

but I have no idea what the appropriate browser plugins directory is. Can someone tell me, earning my undying gratitude? And where should the other files in the update be stored?

Why don't you update Flash through the Update Manager? But to answer your question, try /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer.
