No sound

Post by toby »

Hi,

I have the following:
NUC7i3BNH kit
Linux Mint 18.3
Samsung TV 75"
Latest BIOS

I do not get sound via HDMI to tv, unless I change resolution in Linux, and then changes back to previous resolution.?
This is annoying to have to go through this every time.

Anyone who knows what to do about this :-)

I would recommend installing Pulse Audio Control Pannel (pavucontrol) and running that to see what's happening. It could be that whenever you switch resolutions, for whatever reason, it's muting the HDMI volume. This could be happening during that brief moment when the signal drops during the resolution change. In any event that utility should hopefully give you some additional info.

Thanks for your reply,

I have tried with Pavucontrol and did not get any result.
Can not see that sound mutes by changing resolution.
