Atheros network card does not work properly in Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit

Post by danvie » Thu Feb 08, 2018 5:26 pm

Hello guys! My Atheros wireless network card does not work properly on Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit. Even just next to the router the signal is 70%. If I go to another room, the signal is not enough to connect. The connection is weak and intermittent. I have tried more than 10 solutions that I found in the network (including installing the correct driver) and nothing solves it. Not a hardware problem since in my Windows 10, the card works normally.
Below hardware and system information for easier reply.
Thanks in advance.

See the wireless script link in my signature and post results. I see no sign of a Realtek wireless device, but you do have an Atheros wireless card

Do

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper.conf
sudo depmod -a
Reboot with the ethernet disconnected, then enable wireless, try to connect, then in terminal

Code: Select all

./wireless-info
If not connected with wifi, plug ethernet back in, then

Code: Select all

cat wireless-info.txt | nc termbin.com 9999

Did you remove the ndiswrapper module as that file did show in the wireless script report?

Just follow the other instructions and post the new info

And no, I didn't remove anything sine I posted my issue. Although I may have deleted it some time ago, cause I remember dealing with some script similar when I was trying to solve the problem
