My Wifi keeps dropping. It shows connected but internet goes off every few minutes.

Post by naveen-pandey »

I use Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit

The wifi shows connected but internet is not working. I have to disconnect and reconnect every few minutes. Also signal speed goes down sometimes. Wifi works well in Windows10. How to solve this?

Have you checked the WiFi is OK with another device, such as a mobile phone. It could be a router problem for instance.

I have had the odd WiFi issue with 17.3 which disappeared by going to Mint 18.

No problem with the router as all my other devices are working fine. The wifi shows connected but internet is not working. Also signal speed goes down sometime. Wifi works well in Windows10.

Sorry I have been in hospital for a few days.I suspect you may have broken packages. Try "sudo apt-get install -f" capturing the output and then try again...
