Going from clipgrab 3.6.7 to 3.6.8

Post by exxonin »

"sudo add-apt-repository ppa:clipgrab-team/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clipgrab"

I am able to install: "Setting up clipgrab (3.6.7~xenial1)", but I am not able to install the update '3.6.8", from www.clipgrab.org

Instead of clipgrab, check out youtube-dl
It is in the repo:

Code: Select all

apt install youtube-dl

I installed clipgrab on my netbook running 17.3 Xfce from a ppa. It's at version 3.6.7.

However, if you go the About section in the menu, it offers to update to 3.6.8. Haven't tried this ... I just got a clipgrab update the other day via update manager and haven't used clipgrab for a while. But you could try that, and it seems a hell of a lot less messyt than what I see above.

If I go down to the folder 'clipgrab-3.6.8' and give the command:'./clipgrab', it functions, but I do have to do this each time I do want to open up clipgrab-3.6.8. It is not 'a complete' installation, like a standard installation ought to be...

"~/Downloads/clipgrab-3.6.8 $ ./clipgrab
