It gives options to back up: root; or desktop...or...
Does choosing root back up your 'Home' (documents, photos, ...)???
Desktop shows "home" folder....if you choose "desktop" is everything in the "Home" folder backed up???

What is your version of Mint and what is the desktop environment? If you don't know open a terminal and enter:

You need to give this information for every help request in every thread.
Do not forget this in the future.
The mintBackup tool - if this is, what you mean - has been changed in the last version; so without knowing your system an answer cannot be given.
Besides that: I strongly recommend a far more reliable and flexible backup tool. I use Back in Time, which can also do fully automated backups.
