[SOLVED] Webcam led always on

Post by timurmng »

I am running windows 10 x64 on a lenovo ideapad 100-15ibd model. I have made a Linux Mint 18.3 live usb and booted into it and as soon as i entered in the linux itself, the webcam led turned on. Restarted the laptop, removed usb, logged into windows, but the led still remained on ( it was like that since the booting phase, not a single second turned off). Any ideas? Also, the camera is not detected anymore from the windows, tried a driver reinstall but without succes.

PS: solved. Had to download a software guvcview run it and close it. Seems the problem is resolved

Welcome to the Linux Mint forums. Good that you managed to solve it. Scary idea that the webcam would always be on.

You can change the title of your topic by clicking the little pencil icon in the top right of the first post on your topic. By adding SOLVED to it you can let others know you no longer need help on it and those searching for a solution would also know to check your topic. I already did it for you.
