Compiz theme issues with Mint 18.3 Xfce

Post by ipman99 »

I use Mint-Y-Dark as desktop theme and Mint-Y-Darker as my window theme in Window manager. I'm using Xfwm4 + Compositing in window manager as below.

But if I change it to Compiz or Metacity my theme looks like this. All window titles are darken. Also, I see tearing when moving windows (between title bar and body of the window).

If anyone can help me with this, I really appreciate it.

Try this .... I’ve seen this procedure in some other form... and please do send a reply if ur successfull.. :)

1. Open CompizConfig Settings Manager
2. Go to Effects > Window Decoration
3. You should see the command /usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator. Replace it with /usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator --metacity-theme Name --replace. Note the double dashes in front of the words metacity and replace.
4. Replace the word "Name" with the actual name of your desired theme (e.g. Arc, Numix, ...).
5. Restart your session.

It worked. Thank you so much. But it cause my Xfce menu to float. I was able to fix that by editing compiz setting.
