Fingerprint Scan and Password Managers and Lastpass

Post by 222fbj »

I have a usb fingerprint scanner on my 18.3 mate desktop, and it works fine for desktop login.
I have some non-tech users (who share this PC) with 'forgot my password' issues. So, I thot I'd try fingerprint scanning with them.

Most of authentication issues are with Chrome/browser logins. I use lastpass premium - but just learned they only support fingerprint authentication thru the Windows Biometric Framework.

So, I thought I'd try a password manager (Keepassx, password-gorilla, etc.) for users to access their passwords via fingerprint scan authentication. But I did not see one that says it supports fingerprint login/authentication. Is there a free password manager that supports fingerprint scan to open the app?

Any other suggestions? thanks

I use KeePassX. I love it. My database gets shuttled around (network, email, etc.) with little concern for my security.
as far as fingerprint readers I don't believe the developers would support that, less secure than a common password I believe.
It would probably be best to ask for support first, maybe they can point you to an app that they feel is "best" https://www.keepassx.org/
