Newbie here.
Installed Tinymec because I am looking for a WYSIWYG HTML editor to help me maintain my Civic Club website.
I used the Software Manager and got an AOK from the SW Manager after it finished the install but I can't find it in any of the menus to run it.
I tried to write a rating comment but it was refused because my Account Info is Invalid.
I went to Edit > Account Information and that info is filled in with what looks like a reasonable name and password.
I don't know enough LINUX to carry this forward unaided.
Any help would be appreciated.
Bill

"...doesn't show in menu..."
Some desktop environments don't refresh their menu on-the-fly, you might have to log out and log back in for a new application to register.
Some programs don't have a desktop launcher. Can you see TinyMec in the folder /usr/share/applications/ ?
To get a pertinent response[1] you need to give enough information for someone else to follow the route you took...
o Which Mint version? <----- I boot a Live Session Mint 17.3 as my base LTS Ubuntu system.
o Which Desktop? <----- I use KDE
o Where did you get Tinymec? <----- My Software Manager has no package 'tinymec'...
Did you mean TinyMCE? That is not a desktop application, it's a library of developer scripts to access a web application.

[1] I can do impertinent responses too, for the deserving. You won't like that. Julian is still nursing his bruised tortellini

https://alternativeto.net is your friend.
There does seem to be a lack of currently in development open-source applications of this nature. Lots of abandoned ones. BlueGriffon looks hopeful - opensource but with a freemium distribution model - you need to pay a license fee to access all features. http://bluegriffon.org/#whatsinside & https://github.com/therealglazou/bluegriffon
For tinyMCE - take a look at their site to see how it works - https://www.tiny.cloud/features/ & https://apps.tiny.cloud/signup/
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.
