"Apache" adware

Post by whois1230 »

http://virusguides.com/uninstall-apache-iv-com/ --- Hi, when I open Opera I get a prompt to login to "apache-iv . com". From what I've found this is adware, but I can't find a way to remove it from Linux. The only thing I've recently installed is DotVPN for Opera, which is a browser VPN addon.

you don't wish to use the VPN that is inbuilt within the new Opera Browser ?

have you tried any of the Opera-Browser-addons ? to see if they will block that thing ?.

I really don't think your linux is infected. I bet Opera profile is highjacked. I would delete the Opera profile and then a new one will be created when you open Opera again. I don't use Opera but I would think the profile is located at ~/.opera
