Logical Volume Management

Post by windcheetah »

Hi Everyone, I've managed to setup an LVM with 2 hard drives as 1. It has been working fine for over a year, then a few days ago it went POP. I think the metadata is stuffed, as there are still files there, but I can't read them.
Can anyone suggest a way to try and recover it??

If it makes any difference, I was using LVM2 when it all went horribly wrong!!!

Before I try and recover, I was going to try and back it up, for the first time!!!!
My thoughts are to try and use the

Code: Select all

dd .........
or

Code: Select all

rsync........
or is there a better option???

If any one can offer help in how to use the above for a starter, fantastic!!

Thanks loads
Martin
