ntfs to ext4, how to fstab

Post by scrognoid » Tue Mar 20, 2018 6:28 pm

(This is where fstab questions seem to land but I'll move it if appropriate.)

I want to replace my ntfs archive drive with ext4, keeping same mount point and all.
Current fstab

Code: Select all

UUID=573173997666ABCE /media/2BasementBackup ntfs defaults,nls=utf8,umask=000,uid=1000,windows_names 0 0
Would a generic fstab entry to me fine?

Code: Select all

UUID=e70cc666-4776-440d-b0d4-f0949dcd666b /media/2BasementBackup ext4 defaults noatime 0 2
Linux Mint 17.3 Mate; Dell XPS 13 (9343); Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz; 4 GB RAM

Six items or fewer...

Code: Select all

UUID=e70cc666-4776-440d-b0d4-f0949dcd666b   /media/2BasementBackup   ext4   defaults,noatime   0   2
You were in the left-hand lane and you were signalling left and I more or less assumed you were going to turn left.
