Firejail Google Chrome Default Browser Setting

Post by wgr »

Whenever Google Chrome is started using Firejail, Google Chrome prompts whether to set Google Chrome as default browser. Setting the option for Google Chrome to be the default browser never sticks when using Firejail.

Using the following command to start firejail:
firejail /usr/bin/google-chrome-stable %U

with working directory /home/xxxx/.config/google-chrome/Default

Other settings seem to stick - such as saved passwords and bookmarks. The Google Chrome setting for default browser doesn't hold -- prompted each time Chrome is started with firejail. If Chrome started without firejail the default browser setting holds.

Tried searching for a solution but did not find anything similar with searches.

Any suggestions on how to make the default browser setting hold when using firejail appreciated.

Thanks,
