Resolution and refresh rate settings lost after loging out

Post by mirkoj »

As title say trying to sort this for a while now.
I manage to find where to change monitor refresh rates but after every restart or logout settings in nvidia x server goes back to auto instead of staying at proper resolution and selected refresh rate.
Saving that config file doesn't help at all.
Also even after I setup all manually again, movement and all is much smother across desktop but there is a bit of tearing of the windows moved around.
But anyway after logout or restart settings are lost again.
Tried couple tricks mentioned around the net.. nothing works.
I can't believe that you can;t simply setup resolution and refresh rates and that is it? :))
Thanks for any tips and tricks
