Screen shifted to left after applying recommended resolution

Post by sheeraz »

Hello everybody, I'm newbie and I want help. The recommended screen resolution of my monitor is "1280x1024_60.00" but there is no such option in display. So I added manually this resolution . When I applied this resolution my screen shifted to left leaving a black bar in the right side. Then I pressed adjust button on my monitor several times and it shifted to right but still there is black bar though small in the right side. What should I do ? Please guide

You should read the "Before you post please read how to get help" right above your post: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=83444
especially #5 = supply the result of

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
inside code brackets, the "</>" immediately above the posting text box.
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Set a different resolution. Command xrandr tells possible basic options.
