XRDP connection problem from Windows

Post by vansloneker »

Previously I have installed XRDP on Lubuntu and Mint15. I know I followed a particular guide I can't find right now and I did not save in anyway.
For as much as I remember after installing XRDP a few steps were needed to get at properly working.

Right now I am trying to get a RDP connection from Windows to a fresh Mint 18.3 install. I installed XRDP and from there I am stuck. Basically it is connecting, then connecting to 127.0.0.1 5910 but reporting error - problem connecting.
Clicking OK brings up a logon screen with several connection options. Any of these make the RDP connection crash.

One thing I am not certain about but shouldn't be a problem imho: the Mint I am trying to connect to is currently running at 1920x1080, while the Windows machine I am connecting from is at 1280x1024.

Some xrdp resources....sorry I've never tried setting it up myself but hopefully these can help you troubleshoot.
