Running in Software Rendering mode!!
Hello,I'm new to using this OS.I know very little about it.
After installing,I got this notification and it says
"Cinnamon is currently running without video hardware acceleration and as a result, you may observe much higher than normal CPU usage"
I'm on an Intel 8600 , 8gb ram, H310M H motherboard.
How can I resolve this?
Thanks for reading,

Re: Running in Software Rendering mode!!
sometimes, the easiest option is a straight re-installation.
however, this also assumes that you do have little of value to keep,
and have made few modifications to the original installation.

That's a common problem; most likely video driver related. See here, maybe this will help:

Re: Running in Software Rendering mode!!
Okay then. There are lots of relevant problems with solutions posted on this forum; a search on 'black screen after installation' will turn up plenty of results. Reinstallation is always an option, but it will probably not help in this case.

Re: Running in Software Rendering mode!!
Oh.I will reinstall it and check again. But if it doesn't help,I will search.
Thanks for helping.

Re: Running in Software Rendering mode!!
After you reinstall Linux MInt, you should go to the Mint Updater app and install a new kernel, you may want to try the latest 4.15 kernel found in the mint updater app. It is very likely that the built-in gpu in your i5-8600 runs in software rendering mode because it is a very recent CPU and needs an updated graphics driver.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Re: Running in Software Rendering mode!!
I reinstalled and Updated the Kernel. But it still displays "Running in Software Rendering mode" .
