I deleted python3.5

Post by zxeoc »

Hi, guys. I tried to install Python3.7 and make it as the default "python3"( by ln commond). But after reboot the system, I found a lot of GUI problems (can't start terminal, no system panel, etc). Then I googled it and realise my mistake. But when I tried to correct it, I made another mistake, I rm the /usr/bin/python3.5 the bin file not /usr/bin/python3 the link.

Fortunately, there is a python3.5m file in /usr/bin. So I copy that file as /usr/bin/python3.5 and reboot the system.

Now it seems everything works fine, but I'm not sure if it will work as well as the original one for long term. Is there some problems I didn't see?

I just ran diff -s on the two files, and got this:

Files /usr/bin/python3.5 and /usr/bin/python3.5m are identical

So it looks like you're good.

Thank you. That's a relief.
