LightDM/Slick Greeter settings menu won't load after Mint 18.3 MATE->Mint 19 MATE upgrade?

With the latest Mesa update fixing the no-login issue a lot of people were having with the Mint 18.3-Mint 19 upgrade, I decided to try it on my spare desktop after it failed on my laptop last week and I had to completely reinstall Mint from scratch.
All has actually gone perfectly and I type this from my spare desktop running Mint 19 MATE!
A few tweaks here and there to get things how I like them and back to the way they were and all is well....except for the LightDM login. It works fine to actually login, but when I go to customize/configure it through the 'Login Window' option in the Mint Menu....well, the settings dialog just never appears?
If I run the command to launch the dialog from terminal (i.e. running "pkexec lightdm-settings" from terminal without the quotes), it will ask for my user admin password and then bring up the dialog that way just fine as it is supposed to, but not by simply clicking it in the Menu? Everything else in the menu seems to work fine?
Any ideas what is up here and how to fix it? Cheers!
