Post by Mattyboy » Wed Jul 18, 2018 4:23 am

So, you're in a VM, can't use the keyboard shortcut ctrl, alt +f1 to get to chvt *

Tried jumping via terminal

Code: Select all

mintman@admin1-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M:~$ chvt 1
Couldn't get a file descriptor referring to the console
mintman@admin1-To-be-filled-by-O-E-
How do I open the virtual terminal if I can't use the shortcut? Man page isn't exactly filled with enlightening help
Cheers.

Code: Select all

System: Host: admin1-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M Kernel: 4.15.0-23-generic x86_64 bits: 64 gcc: 7.3.0
Desktop: Cinnamon 3.8.7 (Gtk 3.22.30-1ubuntu1) Distro: Linux Mint 19 Tara
