[SOLVED][Run at startup] inputattach at Mint 19 startup

Post by carnacky79 » Thu Jul 19, 2018 4:24 am

Hi everyone,
I'm using Mint 19 Cinnamon and I want to run '/usr/bin/inputattach --daemon --always -elo /dev/ttyS4' but in the guide of the touchscreen they tell me to use rc.local file that doesn't exist on this version of Mint.
How do I can make this command run at startup? I've tried with "startup application", adding the following command, but nothing happens.
Thanks for your help,
bye

I'm not using anything based on Ubuntu ATM, but rc.local should be in /etc - systemd will still use it. If it's not in /etc, you can just create it... this should do the job:

Code: Select all

printf '%s\n' '#!/bin/bash' 'exit 0' | sudo tee -a /etc/rc.local
sudo chmod +x /etc/rc.local
