I hope someone has found and answer to this problem. Similar to Fresh Mint 19 upgrade - won't log in?
I've installed LM19 fresh TWICE now with the same result that I can't login and I'm taken back to the login screen. I've tried all the suggestions with no joy. The very last update I did was to the kernel. Could that have caused this. Sorry, I'm a nube at this. I know enough to be dangerous in linux.
