[Solved] Videolan display size doesn't scale in lm19

Post by ineuw »

Attached is a full screen image of how Videolan vlc is displayed. The screenshot was taken when the resolution was set to 1920 x 1080 pixels on a 21" (53cm) display, but it remains the same size I set the resolution to 1280 x 720 pixels. Is this a LM 19 issue or a Videolan issue? I ask because I would like to file a bug report.

VLC issue had the same problem in VLC go to tools preferences and uncheck resize interface to video size and save the configuration, now resize VLC to the size you want. It will stay that size and use the maximize button to watch video.

Thanks for the help, but it doesn't work. It recreates the same basic 16:9 resolution, (1280 x 720).

this issue is both vlc and mint. vlc wants to use it's own icon settings and theme while mint themes try to change everything according to theme. my resolution of 1920 doesn't enlarge vlc even if i go to 1024. so you might want to change some settings in themes. i don't use 1920 i use 1440
try changing your icons?

i stopped using vlc i now use mpv and smplayer ... still bugs me i seen this issue before, but i can't reproduce it

I forgot to ask which icon are you referring to. Also, I posted the topic in the Videolan forum as well https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... 65#p478265.

Posted the issue in the Videolan forum and was told by one of the developers that it is a known bug in Qt. So, I switched to SMPlayer and it's pretty good.
