Huge font on menu/interface on a couple of applications

Post by Known » Tue Aug 14, 2018 12:28 pm

Hello guys
Recently, I had to reinstall Linux Mint and I migrated to Linux Mint Tara. And my problem is a huge menu bar and fonts on a couple of applications together (I noticed VLC media player, GoldenDict and Calibre are affected). Surely I didn't change any scaling or font options and other applications work correctly as they should. In the other hand, somewhere I found a way to fix this problem for Qt based apps which didn't helped. You may find it there here.
Fixed by adding a file called gnome-qt.sh in /etc/profile.d

with this inside.

export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0

Well, I did attache some screenshots.

Any suggestions please...

Hi Known, and welcome to the forum.

I do not have a solution for you but just wanted to say, those are the first attachments I've seen on the forum that I didn't have to zoom to be able to read. That was quite a pleasure! In some years time, you too will probably prefer those sizes. :)

Until then, I'm sure someone will help get you sorted shortly.

Thanks body
Happy to hear that
I hope so. Or just maybe that was a bug. For now I think I have to stick with the Mate version which I used before I've installed alongside cinnamon.
