Install Python v 2.6 or 2.7

Post by Preon-777 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:38 pm

I need to install Python v 2.6 or 2.7 to use MadGraph5_aMC (a particle physics code). I searched the internet to try to do it myself, but the instructions were conflicting. Would the Forum be kind enough to provide specific instructions to install, compile, and run Python v 2.6 or 2.7. Hopefully, I can then run MadGraph. Many thanks.

No need to build 2.7 - it's in the repos.

Code: Select all

sudo apt install python2.7
[Mint 19 XFCE, AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core w/16 GB RAM, 4.15.0-39-generic, GeForce GTX 960 w/Nvidia 410.73]
