Install Python v 2.6 or 2.7
I need to install Python v 2.6 or 2.7 to use MadGraph5_aMC (a particle physics code). I searched the internet to try to do it myself, but the instructions were conflicting. Would the Forum be kind enough to provide specific instructions to install, compile, and run Python v 2.6 or 2.7. Hopefully, I can then run MadGraph. Many thanks.

No need to build 2.7 - it's in the repos.
Code: Select all
sudo apt install python2.7

PROBLEM SOLVED. MANY THANKS. I will post a followup that relates to errors received, but the Python issue was solved.
