Here's the whole warning on my machine: Low Disk Space on "Filesystem Root". The volume "Filesystem root" has only 346.9 MB disk space remaining. I'm assuming that I have too many kernels according to the searches I did before posting. Please don't rip me for posting something that should have gone in a different topic. Tried that and got ripped for not starting a new one.
I think what I'm asking for is to alleviate wasted space.
As much info as I can think of.

Original Win10 Laptop is dual booted. I didn't know how much to put into each particion at the time so I'm assuming I have to live with it.
Had a dickens of a time getting Linux back after a couple "updates" by MSoft. Lost about 9 months of Linux use/learning not having any idea how to get it back. It wasn't grub, it was a setting in the boot menu (UEFI?)

First suggestion, run below commands in a terminal, that will clean out package cache and remove unneeded packages:
Code: Select all
apt clean
apt autoremove --purge

Re: Low Disk Space on "Filesystem Root"
The partition containing Mint (and likely programs as well) is nearly full. Can you perhaps reduce the size of the Windows partition (192GB) so you can increase the size of
/dev/sda6
?Re: Low Disk Space on "Filesystem Root"
I removed a bunch of old kernels through update manager first.Laurent85 wrote: ⤴Thu Aug 16, 2018 5:32 pmFirst suggestion, run below commands in a terminal, that will clean out package cache and remove unneeded packages:2nd suggestion remove old kernels through Update Manager > View > Linux kernelsCode: Select all

Looks like I got about 7% back as it was 99% for this line below: Partition: ID-1: / size: 23G used: 20G (92%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sda6
There are two more kernels listed 4.15.0-29 and 0-32 plus the active one 4.15.0-32. I've been running on the active one for about 2-3 days, I think. Is it advisable to remove one or both installed/not active copies?
