Just recently I've installed Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon but considering which version of Java for Linux to download has confused me, any help?
here's a screenshot of the options:  https://i.gyazo.com/b2b89dad5c60fcfe089 ... e7df06.png

Mint comes with (2) versions of the Java JRE: openjdk-8-jre (which is the version in your screenshot), or openjdk-11-jre (the latest, but not completely backwards-compatible). I would install version 8 (sudo apt install openjdk-8-jre).

Thanks for your response!

I ran that script and all went well, but how do I know it's installed? There doesn't seem to be any indication that it's running or even if it's on my system.
