[SOLVED]Cannot open a file .exe despite having Wine

Post by vince1989 » Sun Oct 14, 2018 2:01 pm

Hello people,
I am finding myself in a bit of embarrassing situation lol. Despite having Wine, Wine tricks and PlayOnLinux I cannot seem to open a game (file.exe) downloaded from GoG.com.

I normally can after downloading Wine, but I am not sure why I can't find the Wine application among the software to choose from when I right click on the file.exe.

Anyone can help?

Maybe the downloaded file is corrupt. Try opening it on a Windoze machine. Try rebooting.

What happens when you enter in a terminal

Code: Select all

wine file.exe
when you're in the directory which contains file.exe, of course.

Yes I had to install wine32

Code: Select all

apt-get install wine32
Hopefully this will help others in need
