[SOLVED] "HOME" has 0 space left.

Post by bradrar »

I don't know why I have 0 space left in my computer . Last time I checked, I have 5GB left . But now it has 0 space left.

What I am doing before this happened:

I am using Visual Studio code for editing javascript and I CTRL + S whenever possible as to not lose my progress. Then after 1 hour, I cannot save anymore because I don't have any space left. now I restarted my computer but I still have 0 space left.

Please help me.

Here are my computers info.

You might want to start a live media session and mount /dev/sda8 where your /home is located. Backup everything you need then start deleting things you don't need. You're also headed for trouble with /. It's almost full and is way too small.

By booting your machine from a DVD or USB stick with Mint on it. Just like you use when you want to to install Mint on a new machine.

Well, you don't need a live session as long as you can still log in to your regular install, just start deleting files from there. Things like clearing browser caches should get you some space back instantly. The Disk Usage Analyzer from the menu can help you identify where the rest of your space went.

Thank you for your tip.

I used bleachbit and deleted all unnecessary files from there.

I heard from the ones in the know that bleachbit is bad bad bad to use, I don't think I would use that again.
