For the past several weeks I am having unending problems with the Internet connection relating to Linux repository updates of any kind. Software list update fails after it downloads 80-90% of the info, the update manager cannot update itself, and the same problem exists when I try using the Y-PPA manager. Switched repositories several times, but the problem persists with any selected repository. They all report an internet connection error even though I am connected without any problems with all other web applications.

Can download gigabytes of material from Internet Archive, use Cyberfox, and Vivaldi without any interruption, and work online, hours at a time without any problems. The connection is a 50mbit Ethernet, I also removed the OpenDNS gateways from IPv4 (which is the only one I use) just in case it is the source of the problem. In addition, this problem never happens in Windows.

Re: Connection problems only with system related issues

Issue is resolved. OpenDNS was the cause of the constant disconnect of the repositories. It took several attempts to remove the OpenDNS link. Even after removing it from the network settings, their test site https://www.opendns.com/welcome/ kept indicating a connection. First, I rebooted the router, (in which the ISP DNS is "hardcoded" and not changeable). Then rebooted Linux several times until it was gone. Now, updating the repositories is no longer a problem. Will bring it to the attention of OpenDNS.
