Is there software available to play games over the internet for Linux Mint or Firefox?

Post by Punchy71 »

Hi,
Is there some way to play games with another player over the internet by downloading and installing some kind of software, client or application for Linux Mint itself or even FireFox web browser? I'm mostly interested in trying out public domain type games such as chess, checkers, standard playing cards, dominoes, and similar such games.
Thanks for any help.

There's plenty of platform independent online boardgames sites e.g a quick google returns...

https://www.chess.com/

Gnome Chess (install as part of Gnome Games) looks like it supports network play....
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.

It doesn't, at least not the version in the repos. But there are plenty options out there, as any cursory glance at a search engine will show. Aside from chess in particular online poker.
