Ubuntu-tweaks i Mint 19

Post by Tolle » Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:51 pm

In my 'old' Mint18 I used regularly 'Ubuntu-Tweaks' with success. In Mint19 I'm not able to install it.
Why?

Since no package ubuntu-tweak exists in the Ubuntu repositories, it must be some kind of third party software. I therefore suggest asking the author of the software about your troubles with it.

Hi Tolle, and welcome to the forum. If you meant Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.6, I'm afraid it hasn't been supported for a few years. The last version released was in April of 2014.

I do not recommend trying this, but if you really want it, you can download the deb file from this page.

You're now on Mint 19 which is based on Ubuntu 18.04, while the software was written for Ubuntu 14.04 which is 2 major version ago. There's no telling what, if anything, will still work properly, and because of that, there's no telling what damage you might do to your system trying to use it.

Ubuntu 18.04, for its GNOME desktop, now uses the gnome-tweak-tool.
It is available for installation via the Software Manager under the name gnome-tweaks
Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon - 64bit
