hotkeys or similar shortcuts

Postby ancientscribble » Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:45 pm

I am curious as to how I can navigate this OS with my keyboard.

For example: Pressing a key or key combo to open up the start menu, or the terminal.

What are some good hotkeys? I would like to minimize my use of the mouse.

You can use the Keyboard Shortcuts interface to set any hotkeys you'd like. Have fun :)

haha

Wow thanks. Didn't think to do the obvious and just type "keyboard shortcuts" into the OS menu...

What would be the command for opening the main menu?

I want to add that as a custom hotkey.

Alt+F1 brings up a faster version of the Mint Menu right underneath wherever your mouse cursor is on the screen.

I keep learning something every day - the default key combo for opening the bottom menu is Ctrl-SuperL , wehre SuperL is the Windows Start key on most keyboards. You can change that combo by right clicking on the Menu button and choosing preferences.

But I still prefer the easier Alt+F1 menu.
