If you have a working ethernet, or other internet connection to the machine, see the wireless script link in my signature and post results

In terminal do

Code: Select all

sudo apt install git build-essential
git clone https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce.git
cd rtl8821ce
make
sudo make install
Reboot

After a kernel update, the wifi will need to be recompiled

Code: Select all

cd rtl8821ce
make clean
make
sudo make install

i typed :

sudo apt install git build-essential

and got:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
build-essential is already the newest version (12.4ubuntu1).
git is already the newest version (1:2.17.1-1ubuntu0.4).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

is this right?

Depending on how you have Update Manager set up, you will get kernel updates that have security updates, rebooting after the install will result in wifi not working until you run the second set of commands and reboot

ok i dindt understand at first Pathtofile means i have to write the path to the file, sorry im new to this

nthis is what i got

sudo apt-get install //home/niemand/Downloads/nordvpn-release_1.0.0_all.deb
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting 'nordvpn-release' instead of '//home/niemand/Downloads/nordvpn-release_1.0.0_all.deb'
nordvpn-release is already the newest version (1.0.0).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

it tells me its allready the newest version so its probably installed allready right?

I still cannot see NordVpn app anywhere

Check Network Manager as it might be in there as VPN

Reboot to see if NordVPN shows up in the Menu.

It might be that you only installed the nordvpn repo.

Try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nordvpn
Also are you sure it's not just a terminal application? If you still don't find it afterwards, try

Code: Select all

nordvpn --help
