(SOLVED) How to unzip a file??

Post by Mike-Linux-Mint »

I've downloaded some files from my google drive account and I got a .zip.part file
I couldn't find a way to unzip it and access to its content. The file is in the Download directory.
double clicking on it doesn't work, I get a message that there are no programs associated with it.
Any idea?

A *.zip.part file is a partially downloaded file. It has either not finished downloading or something interrupted the download. Try downloading it again.

I don't remember but when you split zip files don't you get part files?

No, if you create multipart zip-archives, in this case you get name.z01, name.z02 ... name.z99 and name.zip
(whereby the highest number is not necessarily 99, depends on the number of zip-parts which have been created.)

I use p7zip.

sudo apt-get install p7zip p7zip-full p7zip-rar

You must have ALL .part files to unzip an archive.l

No! x.tip.part is not a zip file. It is incompatible and can't unzipped.

zip and unzip are installed in default. There is really no need to install something from the malware world (known as internet).

No-one had suggested installing any questionable software from the darknet.
p7zip, p7zip-full and p7zip-rar can be got from the official software repos.

Actually the zip.part file was as you said an uncompleted file so I re-downloaded it and it worked, I was able to unzip it just fine with Archive manager.
Thanks all
