Post by de_synced »

after installing wine, i have been running into connection problems e.g when i go into update manager or driver manager. with the error:

Code: Select all

W:GPG error: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu bionic InRelease:
The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 818A435C5FCBF54A,
E:The repository 'https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu bionic InRelease' is not signed.

Did you add the repository key when you added the repository?

Code: Select all

wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key && sudo apt-key add Release.key

Also note this recent update/change posted at https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu

"The WineHQ repository key was changed on 2018-12-19. If you downloaded and added the key before that time, you will need to download and add the new key."

My Update Manager suddenly started to produce the errors you described for no apparent reason. Applying the new key as instructed fixed the problem.
