as you can see I have been playing with linux for some years at all stages
I have now got to the point of using it for all my own work - great!
I recently got a new NUC box which runs very quickly under linux
the issue I have is that when I installed it, it has created one large partition acrtoss the whole (1TB) disk
what I want to do is add an M.2 drive and put the system on that and create a /home partition on the 1TB disk
if I start again , no problem as I use dropbox and save my accounts and so on, what do I need to do to get that to happen?
any help would be great
thanks

Re: how to set my system up
Hello dykesy61,
Back up important data and do a reinstall. When you get to the partition page select something else and there you can set up the partitions any way you like.
when finished partitioning continue the install. Good Luck.

Re: how to set my system up
What a waste of a perfectly good M.2 drive. At most you'll use ~32GB of it, which will leave you with a lot of unused space. You'd be better off putting a home partition on the M.2 with the OS, and linking to your HDD for files that you don't use too often.

thanks for those - is that all the system takes? In that case you're right - will do

Re: how to set my system up
so what do I need to do about having a separate drive for longer term storage?
once I have loaded the system onto the M.2 and then attach another drive what do I need to do?
sorry, not clear!
thanks

Re: how to set my system up
Again when you do the install and get to the partitioning pages. select something else and partition your drives the way you want.

Agree with catweazel (nice to see you posting again). Install mint on the m2 drive, personally I'd create separate partitions for
