Mint 19.1 Install freezes on Grub2

Post by neoxnocturne »

I'm trying to install Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.1 on my Acer Aspire, but for some reason the installer can never get past the part of the install that involves Grub2. I've Cleared the partition many times and have tried everything I know, but unfortunately I'm just not well versed enough in Linux to fix this issue. Please help!

The installer asks for the location grub should be installed on:

MBR: only the drive: /dev/sda
UEFI: the partition the UEFI partition is sitting on: /dev/sda3

Don't try the wrong location!
