Hidpi and 1920x1080 screen

Post by alligoodw »

Linux Mint 19 is awesome with hiccups.

How do you scale 1920x1080 screen properly? Going to GENERAL and selecting Double Hi-DPI doesn't cut it. Unless the problem is resolved, Linux Mint 19 will never be a likely candidate as a default operating system.

I'm using an HP Envy 15.6 laptop. See the following:

Operating System: Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon 4.08
Graphics Card: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520
Linux Kernel: 4.15.0.20-generic

Thanks!

Define, "output has to be posted in code tags."

Please don't use jargon as found in NASA's journal to launch a shuttle. Condescend to the level equivalent to "Newbie" and let your intelligence role.

Thanks!

In the menu bar immediately above the text area in a reply, makes it much more readable. Don't know what NASA has to do with it?

To the OP, you really need to give more info on your setup or no one can help. But "Who says Mint is trying to be the default os? " was really completely non helpful. sorry to the OP for that, not our usual response here.

settings -> fonts

The font size defines the readability.

screen -> resolution

My eyesd are perfectly now. So I use UHD 3860x23080 in font size 10 pt for all. Some month ago my eys were really bad. So I used font size 14 to have acceptable readability.

It YOU who is unable to use your system right, bgut not the systtem. Chech the settings of your system and set them right for you. The blindless is sitting in front of your computer, not the computer itself or the OS.
