I have freshly installed Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa Cinnamon, with latest updates installed.
Kernel version 4.18.0-17-generic x86_64.
System regularly hangs once in 2-3 days.
I tried next when hangs:
- Ctrl+Alt+Esc - doesn't work
- Ctrl+Alt+F1 - doesn't work
- Alt+PrtScr + reisub - works
Hardware - Desktop PC:
processor: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G
video card: integrated Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
ram: 16Gb ram (memtest - ok)
PCI-E SSD
How to detect the reason of hangs?

@Anber,
I think the preferred kernel for this release is 4.15.0-47. You might want to try that.
Moreover, this is an important LTS kernel - supported until April 2023...
Please also follow the instructions concerning "Do this first after installing etc."
Especially your current swap procedure might be a known showstopper. You
might want to modify that...

Re: Linux Mint 19.1 hangs every second day
I faced with problems on 4.15, at least that version that comes with iso image - can't boot.
Quick googling says that v4.15 does not have support for Ryzen and it integrated video card, so I just put ssd to Intel pc, update kernel and put it back again. Maybe in 4.15.0-47 this problem is fixed, but I don't want to test.
Re: Linux Mint 19.1 hangs every second day
Are there messages in syslog from just before the failure? It can be applications breaking Linux. In my most used machine, Nemo can lock up on some USB faults. Nemo sometimes locks up Cinnamon. Cinnamon sometimes locks up Linux.
Without keyboard access, I have to resort to the big red power button.
