Post by jitterssnowpaw » Tue Jun 11, 2019 12:45 pm

I'm running the game Ragnarok Online and I'm really happy I was able to get it to work on Linux Mint except I'm having one problem. I CAN'T GET THE 1024X768 WINDOW, it's all BLACK oh my god!

:D Can you help?

It is like 1380x1014 or something, the game should display it in 1024x768 that is. It shouldn't be black.

Settings -- display should tell you the resolution.

The black screen in wine games doesn't mean that the resolution is wrong. It could be a lot of different things and depends of the game, wine version, windows components that game maybe needs and therefore must be installed etc. WineHQ database is the place in which you can find reports if the game works and maybe some info and workarounds on how to get it work. Also, running the game from terminal and take a look at the output maybe give you some info of what it fails and causes the problem. Also you can use it as search term on google to hopefully find something helpful. Play on linux is another place(and way) to find info and possible ways to get it work.

Thanks man I really appreciate the help so far but, well, I got it to work again in MXLinux so I'll just keep what I have so far I don't wanna risk anything right now. If I have a problem with MX I'll go back to Mint. But anyway thanks man ^^
