dpkg was interupted

Post by BoDill » Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:14 pm

When trying to install Security Updates, I get a window with the following message, and I don't know what to do. I turned off and restarted the computer, but the message came back. I suspect that it is something bad, like spam, etc.

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Can you help me? If so, please put your instructions in the simplest terms, as I am not very good with computer stuff.
Thank you in advance....

Open a terminal and run

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a
type in your password when prompted followed by return and let it run its course. This should fix the issue.

Good luck!
